The Honorable Thing To Do…Sir!

Several weeks ago, a Judicial Panel convened to investigate the ethics complaint filed against Councilman Graham concluded that he was Guilty of the allegations. During the hearings, one of the Judges stated that “Graham’s statements contradicted the facts”. There is no way to sugar coat the conclusion.

The Panel’s report was submitted to the City Council. Rather then accept the document, the Council was blocked from doing so by City Councilors Kwasman, Littlefield and Dubauskas in a clear move to protect Graham, and thwart the Ethics Panel Conclusions. They seem to not have realized that the guilty verdict stands regardless of whether the council accepted or rejected the Report. Their actions neither absolved Councilman Graham nor exonerated him of violating the Ethics Ordinance of the City of Scottsdale. We are reminded of an old adage, “if you lay down with dogs, you will get fleas”, what were they thinking? He is still GUILTY!!

What has followed is both shocking and outrageous. Graham using his well known “cats paw” has attacked staff who as innocent by standers were forced to testify and he has gone further in initiating Freedom of Information requests against Councilors McAllen and Whitehead. His conduct after the panel’s verdict are despicable. The waste of City resources to respond to his conduct and behaviour do not respect the office he holds.

Councilman Graham, DO THE RIGHT THING ! Apologize for your conduct, move past this crisis and work on the City’s business, stop fostering this toxic environment in our City Council and stop the petty politics that besmirch our City reputation. If you were a gentleman, you would do the Honorable Thing and resign, but we doubt that and would encourage you to apologize, it is the least that you should do. DO THE HONORABLE THING!!!
