At the risk of being rather presumptive, we get a sense that we may be starting to sound like Agatha Christie, we got a call last night from another City Councilor, it seems we will by days end be in a position where there is only one left. While hope springs eternal and we are hoping for none left to talk or meet with us, regardless, the big reveal will be done over the weekend. By days end, the wheat will have separated from the chaff and we will know who is who and what is what.
So we find ourselves asking a simple set of questions, why has it been so difficult to get our elected leaders to step up and say “yes” we support common sense, we are here to protect everyone and “of course we support the sidewalk on 68th Street” Yes , we have a vision of a better future for our citty and we look forward with optimism to doing the city’s business. And yes, it is our duty to continue the work of prior councils as we would expect future councils to continue our work. Institutional fidelity is our mantra.
We need to see a council that stands proud and tall, shoulder to shoulder with the citizens, to set aside personal ambition and ego, to do the right thing, to do the peoples work! Finish this project, evidence to us true leadership, finish what has been started.
Build a sidewalk, save a life!
