Down To TWO

We are happy to report that yesterday one of the City Councilors with whom we had not yet met, scheduled a meeting for next week. We appreciate the willingness to do so and also the tentative statement of support for the sidewalk project that was expressed to us in advance of that meeting. Meanwhile, we still have two recalcitrant City Councilors who have not responded in any way to our ask for a meeting. It is now three weeks since we asked and we hope that they change their minds and call to set up a meeting time. This project is to important to play games, so, again we ask, can we please meet with you two, together or apart, we do not bite, we just want a sidewalk! We are not naming names yet, we are not playing at politics.

We had some colleagues look at the area yesterday and they imagined the area a year from now, sidewalks neatly defining a newly paved and marked roadway, pedestrians walking on either side and cars passing by in an orderly way. We look forward to actually seeing that and being able to celebrate the Council’s singular achievement and the pride we will feel in our leaders. When the vote is complete, we will rest
