It is a beautiful day outside, imagine you could take a stroll down 68th Street kids and dog in tow, your guests strolling behind marvelling at our beautiful city and looking forward to reaching the canal for a delightful walk and fresh air. Walking, talking, taking it all in and then ending at Arcadia Farms for a morning coffee and pastry. And then a safe walk home up 68th street to enjoy a quiet restful day.
If that were only so. Instead you would take that obstacle course down 68th street, your life and the life of your entourage in grave danger , you sweating, desperately trying to keep everyone safely together. Exhausted , you skip Old Town scurry home grateful to have survived the ordeal.
Now, just imagine the City Council acting with wisdom and the power we have vested in them, do the right thing and approve completion of this project that the city has already started. Imagine the joy we could all celebrate and the pride they could espouse of the job they did so well and the leadership they demonstrated in acting to enable the safe use of a city amenity. Imagine…..
We can imagine, we should imagine, we hope that the council and Mayor “DO THE RIGHT THING!!! We are all watching with bated breath.
